Marine collagen or bovine collagen – which one to choose?
Complete Guide: Marine or Bovine Collagen – Which to Choose? "You're standing in front of a shelf (or browsing an e-shop) and you see two containers. One says "Marine," the other "Bovine." Both promise beauty and health. Both look like the same powder. A natural question arises: Does my skin care where the collagen came from? Does more expensive mean better?" BioSalma experts often hear this question. And the answer isn't as simple as "yes" or "no." It all depends on your goal. In this guide, we will literally dissect collagen molecules and help you choose what is best for you. Article Summary 1 What is Collagen? A structural protein supporting skin elasticity, joint flexibility, and tissue strength. Read more → 2 Marine or Bovine? Differences lie in collagen type, molecular weight, and goals – skin, joints, or universal support. Read more → 3 Which to choose? Look for hydrolyzed peptides, clear origin, and good solubility according to your goals. Read more → View BioSalma Collagens What is Collagen and its Hydrolyzed Peptides? Collagen is one of the most frequently mentioned dietary supplements today, both in the context of beauty and joint support. However, with immense popularity also come countless questions. Most of us know that collagen is like the glue that holds our body together. It's everywhere – from skin and tendons to bones. However, when it comes to dietary supplements, we often forget one essential detail: molecular size. Natural, unprocessed collagen is a large, heavy, and robust molecule. If we simply ate cartilage or skin, our bodies would find it very difficult to break it down and absorb it. Most of it would simply pass through the body without any benefit. This is where hydrolysis comes in – a process in which long, complex protein molecules are chemically or enzymatically broken down into smaller units. Why are Hydrolyzed Peptides Important to You? Absorption: Peptides are so small that they easily pass through the intestinal walls and enter the bloodstream directly. Effectiveness: The body recognizes them as building blocks and sends them where they are most needed. Result: When you see "hydrolyzed peptides," know that the product is ready to work, not just to be consumed. Marine Collagen – Is it really "better"? Marine collagen is often hailed as a "beauty elixir." The answer lies in its type. Marine collagen (derived from fish skin and scales) consists almost exclusively of Type I collagen. This type is dominant in our skin, making up about 80–90% of its structure. When to choose BioSalma marine collagen? If your main priority is longevity and preserving a youthful appearance. It is ideal for improving skin elasticity, hydration, and reducing the appearance of fine lines. Furthermore, BioSalma marine collagen is completely tasteless. 👉 Try BioSalma Marine Collagen → Bovine (Animal) Collagen: When to choose it? If we call marine collagen a "skin specialist," then bovine collagen is a true "universal soldier." It is rich not only in Type I but also in Type III collagen. This combination is particularly important not only for the skin but also for muscles, blood vessels, and the gut. When to choose BioSalma bovine collagen? This is the best choice if you are looking for comprehensive benefits: it is perfect for physically active people (for joints, ligaments) and for those who want to maintain gut health due to its high glycine content. 👉 Try BioSalma Pure Bovine Collagen → So which BioSalma collagen should I choose? Choose MARINE, if: Your priority #1 is facial skin condition and longevity goals. You do not consume meat products (you are a pescatarian). You want a specific source of Type I collagen. Choose BOVINE, if: You want a universal supplement (skin + joints + gut). You are physically active or experience joint discomfort. You are looking for the best value for money. Whichever you choose – BioSalma guarantees that you will get a 100% pure, tasteless, and easily dissolvable product without any unnecessary additives or sweeteners. Simply mix it into your morning coffee, smoothie, or water and let the peptides do their job. Small habits. Long-term value. Self-care begins with simple daily decisions. Choose collagen that has a clear origin, good absorption, and convenient use. View the full assortment This article is for informational purposes.
